About Costcodle

Why we built Costcodle

Costcodle started as an argument in a group chat: how much does a giant tub of laundry pods actually cost? Nobody agreed, everyone had a number, and almost everyone was wrong. So we turned the argument into a game.

One warehouse item a day, six guesses, honest feedback. No sign-up, no app, no ads. The rules are short on purpose. We wanted the fun to start before the page finished loading, and we wanted an excuse to argue about prices every single day.

How the puzzles are made

Each puzzle is a generic product description with a realistic US warehouse-club price. Names and sizes are invented, and prices are illustrative. They work for the game and are never a quote from a store.

We check that items are guessable from ordinary shopping experience and that every hint leaves you something to work with. The full season is 365 puzzles, one for each day.
